About

Angela Wilson is a licensed psychotherapist psychiatric nurse practitioner with over 25 years of experience working with adults, teens , children and couples in outpatient and inpatient settings. She enjoys working with all age groups and using different modalities such as play therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy CBT , and problem solving talk therapy  to address most mental health issues. She believes in developing a partnership with the clients she works with and collaboratively develops a plan of care that leads to healing and optimal health.

In addition to working 1:1 with clients , Angela has extensive experience and training in working with families with young and adult children. This stems from the training she received while at the University of Pennsylvania, working with families to improve communication. This may include all family members or just those able to participate. Her work also includes coaching families to work together in family businesses by helping them understand the root of conflicts and how to resolve them . Other training that complements Angela’s individual and family work is CBT for insomnia, OCD , EMDR and  trauma informed work.

Notables

Angela graduated from Boston University with a BSN, and went to graduate school at the University of Pennsylvania to study child and family psychiatric nursing. To complement her experiences in mental health, she later pursued a MA in Elementary Education at the University of San Francisco. Angela is also certified as a Child/Adolescent Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist by ANCC.
